Housing on Campus is Available in the Tapestry Building

Please note that the conference housing will be available from Sunday, July 24 until Friday, July 29. Be sure to review the required COVID regulations for housing below.

How to Secure Conference Housing

  • To confirm your housing accommodations, select the option that includes "on campus housing and meals" when you complete your conference registration.

  • Most guests will be staying in 2 person campus apartments. There are a limited number of singles.

    • If you would like to room with a specific fellow conference attendee, you will have the option to indicate their name when you complete your registration.

    • If you do not have a specific person in mind, room assignments will be created by the conference organizers and will be sorted according to gender. (Indicated when you register for the conference; options are Female, Male and Non-Binary.)

  • An estimated campus arrival day/time and departure day/time is required at the time of registration. (This information allows us to plan for student check-ins. We understand that it may be tentative at the time of registration, and can be updated later.)

Check in will take place on Sunday, July 24, between 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.*

*IMPORTANT: If you will arrive outside of these hours, please let us know via email. We will need to know your alternative arrival time IN ADVANCE to make sure there is someone on site to check you in to housing and provide you with your keys.

Check-Out

  • Check out is at 3pm on your scheduled departure day, unless you have requested an earlier time that day.

Housing COVID Regulations

  • Testing is required prior to initial move-in and receiving access to any residential spaces.

  • Participants are expected to complete a SARS-CoV-2 test no more than 48 hours prior to check-in and email evidence of a negative result to mholtzman@ucsd.edu in order to receive access to their residential space.

  • Participants will be expected to test within 24 hours of receiving notification of the positive wastewater signal within the building they are residing in during summer.

  • Participants who experience symptoms or become exposed to SARS-CoV-2 are expected to be tested promptly.

  • PCR is the preferred testing method but not required.

  • Masking in residential spaces is currently required.

    • Regardless of vaccination status, all students must wear face masks within their residential unit except for their personal bedrooms or in the shower. Masks are also required when inside residential buildings and outside of students’ personal residential units (e.g. halls, elevators, lobbies, etc.).

Campus Apartment Dining (Hours & Location)

  • Breakfast and dinner are provided at no additional cost for those staying in University housing.

    • Lunch and snacks will be available at Atkinson Hall (school venue) each day of the event (M-F, July 25-29).

  • Breakfast hours are: 7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m.

  • Dinner hours are: 6:30 p.m. -7:15 p.m.

  • Note that although the dining halls are open longer than these hours, our summer school is only booked to have meals during these times.
